How can we ensure consistent leadership in a world that is quickly changing?​

VodafoneZiggo provides landlines, mobilephone and integrated communication and entertainment services to customers and companies. For a succesful integration of the two companies, Vodafone and Ziggo, the business’ boards felt the need to invest in their leaders to make this integration successfull. The companies thus sought a partner who could design a development trajectory and facilitatie for all people leaders (550 people). An additional goal of this venture was to create a tight-knit leader community.​

Results

  • The trajectorynamed the “leadership journey”, resulted in the creation of a strong feedback culture that gave direction to behaviour as well as leadership that reflected purpose and the comapny’s strategy. Leaders knew how to gear teams in such a way that they could contribute to this purpose and strategy
  • deeper understanding of and clear perspective on what leadership skills and insights are needed for the future way of working
  • A significant increase of engagement and leadership (role models) in the MTO
  • A high satisfaction about the approach of attendeesvalue generation
  • leadership community in which members experience a strong bond with one another

Our approach

The development trajectory (Leadership Journey) had the following goals:​

  1. An optimal fit with business challenges and existing initiatives​
  2. Co-creation within the trajectory, to from the very start stimulate ownership
  3. Inspire and connect (tight-knit leader community) and behaviour change, to ensure a long-lasting solution​

We have developed a blended-learning approach with off-site and on-site activities, online and offline tools, individual guidance and team development, inspire for collective “experiences” and stimulated a deeper understanding and bond in smaller groups. Some examples of used tools are digital games designed to teach and learn, leadership events, 360 feedback development and team sessions and online gamification to continuously stimulate behaviour change (habit formation).​
